Cathy Higley Graduate Student Scholarly Activity Fund NVU-Johnson

Any student enrolled in a NVU-Johnson graduate program is eligible to apply for funding from the Cathy Higley Graduate Student Scholarly Activity Fund (Higley Fund).

This fund is intended to enhance a student's participation in scholarly activity related to their degree program prior to their graduation. Eligible activities include support for approved research projects, attendance at scholarly conferences, subscriptions to peer-reviewed journals, membership fees for associations, and other scholarly applications. This fund will not be available as scholarship support to cover program tuition or fees.

Instructions & Deadlines:
There will be three awards given from the Higley Fund during the ’22-’23 academic year. Each recipient may receive a maximum of $500. The deadlines for application submissions are:

November 30, 2022
April 30, 2023
June 30, 2023

Completed applications must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies at OfficeofGraduateStudies@NorthernVermont.edu. Please be sure to adhere to the deadlines above.

The NVU-Johnson Graduate Committee will review each application and select the award recipients within two weeks of the deadline date. Funds may take 7-10 business days to be disbursed and must be expended for approved activities and in accordance with institutional policy by the end of the grant period.
